A day of oysters and coyotes (6/29)

I finished my shell bags today.  One confused me, it was really populated, all the shells were much larger than normal and it had the same tags as another.  Dr. Dinnel said it was the ringer, a bag that wasn’t able to be found last year but this year was found.
The ringer bag, a lot of large oysters.
Today was the first day without a morning meeting and I slept in an hour later than normal.  We had lunch with the faculty today, it is informal and very interesting.  It is nice getting to know the professors on a more personal level and hear how they entered marine science, and what their life paths have been.
After lunch I headed back down to do the last few shells bags and while I was elbows deep in oysters I got an email that I got into the marine biology program at WWU!   I proceeded to find the smallest chiton I've ever seen and a hermit crab with a spare room.
Teeny tiny chiton.

This hermit crab has a spare room, the empty barnacle on top of his shell.
This evening we played a wii dance game with everyone and we all laughed a lot. Shad can move! He dances competitively.  Eric came up for dinner and caught us dancing, I swore to him it was all in the name of science.  Right before we left we caught five coyote pups playing in the lawn out back pf the dorms.  After dinner we met everyone at the bar, good night with many laughs.
I wasn't fast enough but here are two pups through the window.
